Some of my favorite courses at SCU have to be the chiropractic procedure classes; those are the classes you get to hone in on your chiro skills, your palpation skills and ultimately work on the adjustments that make you a chiropractor.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the admission requirements for the D.C. program?

If you have 90 undergraduate credits or more and meet other admission standards, you are eligible for the Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) program.  Students who do not meet the 90 credits can enroll in the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences Chiropractic Sciences Concentration which only requires 57 credits and provides another pathway to the DC program.

Is the Doctor of Chiropractic program accredited?

Yes, the Doctor of Chiropractic program is accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE), which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The Doctor of Chiropractic Program is also recognized by the California Arizona Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education.

Can I transfer credits from another chiropractic program?

SCU may accept transfer credits from other chiropractic programs on a case-by-case basis. Transfer credit evaluations are done to determine if the coursework completed at another institution is equivalent to the required courses at SCU. It is recommended to contact the admissions department for specific information regarding credit transfer.

Are there any licensure requirements to become a chiropractor?

Yes, in order to practice as a chiropractor, graduates must obtain a license in the state or jurisdiction where they intend to practice. Licensure requirements vary by state but typically include passing the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) exams and fulfilling any additional state-specific requirements.

Can I specialize in a specific area of chiropractic practice?

SCU offers a unique sports medicine emphasis for students in the Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) program. You may provide care for all levels of athletes, from high school to world-class professionals. Opportunities include exclusive, integrated sports medicine experiences. You will receive a Certificate of Completion if you complete the Sports Medicine Emphasis. The emphasis is noted on the transcript.
