SCU scholarships are designed to offset college costs and are accessible to over 90% of incoming students. Moreover, our Fixed Rate Tuition Guarantee for degree programs eliminates tuition price uncertainty and allow for you to plan your educational investment. 

Students are eligible to apply for both institutional and program-specific scholarships. Institutional scholarships cover up to $10,000 towards tuition and stack with any program-specific scholarships that students are accepted for.

One of the great things about SCU is we do have a campus layout, so all your classes aren't in a single room. We have our cadaver lab. We have different specialty rooms for physical assessment classes vs. acupuncture classes. All our acupuncture-specific classes have all the herbs in the room..

Does SCU provide any support for out-of-state and students who are not local?

Student housing offered to all students and is available through SCU’s student services. The fully furnished apartments are located just 7.8 miles from campus and come fully furnishes with WiFi and other amenities included. Students are able to apply on our website after they are admitted to SCU.
Out-of-state scholarships are also exclusively offered for students outside of California.

What are the admission requirements for the ACM program?

 90 semester credits or 135 quarter credits at an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or a bachelor’s degree. GPA 2.5 on a 4.0 basis. Requirements are for both the Masters and Doctorate program. English proficiency is also required.

Is the Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine program accredited?

 Yes, SCU’s DAcCHM program is approved by the California Acupuncture Board (CAB). The program is also awarded programmatic accreditation by The Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM) effective 24 February 2018.

Can I transfer credits from another ACM program?

Up to 50% eligible transfer credits with no more than 25% being clinical credits (this is per accreditation requirement). The exact wording is described in the catalog.

Are there any licensure requirements to become a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine?

Students who successfully complete the program will earn the degree of Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. If this student wish to practice and see patients, students will need to take licensure exam.

 SCU offers two specialized concentration areas including Acupuncture Orthopedics and Healthy Aging. Acupuncture Orthopedics emphasizes practical training in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of neuromuscular conditions. Health Aging emphasizes guiding patients toward healthy living throughout the life cycle.
